A hidden gem that reminds you of Hue, VN. I decided to give this restaurant a try because it was located in the same plaza as my go to Spa.
I ordered their banh beo (rice cakes with shredded shrimp) and banh uot (rice rolls with steamed pork and veggies). Their dishes reminded me so much of my childhood trips to Vietnam. It tasted very authentic. The dishes were prepared to perfection. It took less than fifteen minutes to receive my order.
The restaurant was small but very busy. I definitely will come back to dine in and try their noodle dishes. There are plenty of catered dishes to order from. The dishes were fairly priced. The orders were very fulfilling. Highly recommend!
The food was underwhelming. The shrimp and sweet potatoes fritters were western sweet potatoes fries with a shrimp on top. The fish sause was bland. The only thing I somewhat enjoyed was the combine pork.
So i’ve been wanting to try this place and saw so many reviews so i was so excited. This was definitely over hyped. however, food wasn’t bad. i’ve had batter banh cuon and with better toppings/sides. so i was kinda really disappointed.
The nuoc mam was not bussin, and that’s what really disappointed me. the rolls weren’t warm/food was kinda room temp. even the fried food was like warm. just didn’t seem as fresh as i would have liked.
i really wanted to like this place. and i’m so sad i have to write this honest review. however, i would say this wasn’t a bad place to eat. like the food wasn’t bussin but not bad you know.
PROS: the viet coffee was good. price is affordable. you get a big portion. i had half still untouched. unlimited nuoc mam. my order came with an eggroll, i liked that. the cha loa (ham slices) were flavorful. rice rolls were nice and soft, cooked well.
Waited about 40 minutes to eat here. It was well worth the wait. We ordered the grilled pork and veggies rice paper roll (#11) and the shrimp rocket (under appetizers). I didn’t know what to expect with the grilled pork roll, but was very pleasantly surprised. It was filling and refreshing. I totally understand why there is usually a wait! Will definitely be coming back here in the future.
Super nice “family” feel restaurant. Our #8 and #15 was delicious!
I had the Vietnamese steak and eggs here no né and it was pretty good. They have a few different flavors but I got the pate one and my friend got the mushroom one. I wish I could order mine a bit more rare because it comes on a sizzling plate, by the time you eat the second half of it, it is over cooked. Also I really don’t like that they don’t give you water but want you to buy bottled water! Not a nice bottle of water, like bottled Kirkland water… that’s a bit unfriendly to customers especially not at a high end place

Drove from San Diego for Banh Cuon. So glad we did. So yummy!
Ordered: 5/5
-#1: pork, shrimp, and plain rice sheet $11.50
-#3: pork and shrimp $11
-Round Steamed $8
Service: 4/5
Fast. Garden brought everything we asked for. Before leaving the restaurant, I had a chance to chat with him. Pleasant individual.
Banh cuon was perfection, great portions, cuons were soft with hefty portions of Cha Lua and tofu. Bun rieu flavor was on point although it was missing the crab egg and pork blood that I love. I'd still get it here if I'm in a clutch for a good fix.
